The Brunch Burger at Suffolk Punch, a relatively new spot off the light rail in South End Charlotte, is one of the best burgers I've had in the Queen City. The accoutrements (pickles, thick cut bacon, cheddar, and runny fried egg) are money, but the burger patty itself steals the show. This high-end grass-fed beef is perfectly seasoned and salty and meaty and juicy - everything you want in a burger. All of this comes packed between a toasted, buttery English muffin, which is a fun alternative to your typical bun. Their simple hand cut fries, sometimes a throw away side at other places, are also bigtime! Beyond a killer weekend brunch menu, Suffolk Punch has a cool seasonal menu throughout the week. It has a coffee bar and is attached to Hyde Brewery, so all of your food and drink desires are covered (I'm partial to Hyde's Patchwork Orange IPA). And this place has a unique dog- and family- friendly back patio with TVs and a tent depending on the weather.
