03/25/17 Crab Cakes at Dogwood in Charlotte, NC. These tasty crab cakes were nicely pan seared and came with black rice, chorizo, mustard greens, sunchoke (a Jerusalem artichoke) puree, and swiss chard relish. A lot of times the accompaniments in a dish are just a sidebar to the main event and you don't really notice them. But I really love how this entire dish was done, as all the accompaniments complemented the crab cakes well. Loved the black rice, chorizo, and mustard greens combination and the relish had a tinge of sweetness that really rounded out the dish well. Very friendly and knowledgeable staff with terrific service. I seriously must have had my head in the sand not to have been to this restaurant before in my home city! They also own Dressler's and Porter's House, which I also look forward to trying. S/O to my awesome wife, @julieheintzcho for finding this gem!
