Raw 167 is a tiny place just off the beaten path in Charleston, and if not for the line that will inevitably be in front of it, you might miss it. The restaurant is trendy, if a bit tight and dark on the inside (hence the less than stellar photo), but the food packs big and bright flavors. We got the lobster roll at Rich's recommendation, and it certainly didn't disappoint - one of the best we've had for sure and my wife's favorite dish of the weekend. For our other entree, we were debating between the oyster po boy and the tuna burger. Our waiter said the burger was hands-down his favorite thing on the menu, so we went with that. This is honestly up there with the best burgers I've had, regardless of meat. The patty is tuna tare tare that is seared to get a nice crust, with the middle staying raw and tender. It has everything you want in a burger but can stay so much more tender in the middle because it doesn't have to be cooked through. The patty sits on top of a bed of lettuce and tomato and under homemade guac and a really bright, herbacious spring onion aioli. All of this was stacked between a nicely toasted bun. To finish off the meal, we got the ice cream sandwich, which was awesome in its own right. In a city packed with bigtime spots, Raw 167 is definitely a must-visit restaurant. It doesn't take reservations, but if you go in off hours, I'd say your wait should be 30 minutes or less.
