I don't feel worthy to be submitting the first Bigtime Bites report on Wild Ginger, but someone has to break the seal...so here it goes: over the years, this asian fusion restaurant has become a Seattle staple - located in a prime downtown corner, not far from Pike Place Market. They have a second location in Bellevue, but I recommend checking out the OG location, first. Shoutout to Mr. Bigtime himself for taking me here (and picking up the tab) on a recent visit. Everything we tried was great (we couldn't go super hard, since this was stop #1 on a back-to-back-to-back "lunch" extravaganza), but what stood out the most to me --- the Siam Lettuce Cups. These things were exploding with flavor and seemed to keep getting better with every bite. It's probably also worth mentioning that up to this point, the best (and probably only) 'lettuce cup' I'd ever had was at P.F. Chang's. With that being said, this bigtime bite consisted of seared sea bass with roasted peanuts, Thai basil, lime juice, chili, and tamarind. Scoop a spoonful of this glorious flavor combination into the butter lettuce leaves and you'll know exactly what I'm talking about!
