These were billed as “spicy” shrimp tacos, but they weren’t spicy til I added some habanero salsa. The Pescado grilled mahi mahi tacos were much better. (It would have been a starter but I didn’t get a picture because of the mystery wrapping mentioned below.) I’m not a huge Mexican foodie to begin with, so it’s possible I just don’t appreciate a good taco, but I didn’t think that this famed stand lived up to the hype to make it worth the long wait to get in the door. Once you get in, the order prep is fast though. The chicken was my least favorite of the three I ordered, and the chips and guacamole were nothing to write home about either. If you go, I recommend NOT ordering to go, even though you’ll be tempted after the wait. They wrap the to go tacos two at a time in burger-style foil, which makes them messier and a little soggier, and they’re not marked so there’s a bit of guessing when you open them.
