Luckily I saw a report on this place from foodguy right before a trip to New York. I had a free afternoon and headed to Chinatown and grabbed 10 of these bad boys (for $3!). They were as good as advertised, with a thick fried crunch on the pan side. The filling was also really tasty, with a balanced mix of ground pork and fresh green onions. Add a splash of soy sauce and you're good to go. This place is tiny - hardly any room inside the storefront, but that adds to the charm. I grabbed the dumplings to-go and headed to a nearby park to watch some guys playing pick-up and handball on a pleasant summer Sunday afternoon. If you're in the neighborhood, East Dumpling is definitely worth a stop.
