La Creperie is a bright, airy cafe just up the street from the beautiful Luxembourg Gardens in Paris’ Latin Quarter. We ate a lot of good stuff over a couple days in Paris and this spot had two of our favorite dishes - both were crepes. One was a pretty standard sweet crepe with Nutella and strawberry which was extremely good. The strawberries honestly tasted like candy. But our favorite was this savory crepe. The crepe is made with buckwheat flour which is pretty much the same as standard flour, maybe a bit nuttier and slightly darker in color. It was perfectly crispy and was the ideal envelope for the tasty ingredients inside. These included a generous helping of melted cheese with a slight tang, salty thin sliced ham, and a runny fried egg. Getting a little bit of each component makes for a pretty flawless bite of food. Can’t recommend this place highly enough if you’re interested in getting crepes while in Paris. Do be warned that if you sit outside and order a sweet crepe, you will attract a large chunk of Paris’ very healthy bee population. This place is open 8am to midnight.
