Never had a fish taco until I tried Cabo Fish Taco. “A Unique Fusion of Fresh Seafood and Original Baja Mexican Cuisine” (via their website). Whenever I get tacos, I’m usually hip to traditional Mexican style: carne asada, lengua, al pasto, or carnitas. Never do I reach for pescado. But tonight, that all changed. The BBQ Mahi tacos were awesome. Grilled mango BBQ Mahi-Mahi tacos stuffed with Cabo slaw, tomato, avocado, cheese & finished with cilantro white sauce. These tacos are pretty big in size and they come in pairs of two + a side. I could of eaten more, but it’s a decent portion size for the average eater. The chunks of fish are humongous. Located in the heart of NoDa, this place does get busy, especially on weekends. Totally worth the wait, so if you commit, there’s no decommiting. Please order the Baja shrimp and crab dip as an app to start - it’s just as big time as the tacos. The dip is solid, but pay attention to the crispy pita chips. They will remind you of a soft, warm Taco Bell chalupa shell, but better. Both the dip + pita chips complement each other perfectly. Next visit, I’m going to try the honey soy glazed salmon tacos and a quesadilla.
