Cobia at Little Fish in Philadelphia, PA. Philly is a great food town with a ton of wonderful options. However, when I was in Philly recently just for one night, it was a no-brainer where to go for dinner, as no trip to Philly is complete without hitting Little Fish, renowned Chef Alex Yoon’s highly acclaimed restaurant. The Cobia on this night was one of the featured items and was outstanding! Cobia is a semi-flaky whitefish with a firmness along the lines of a mahi mahi or snapper, and slightly less firm than a swordfish. The fish was char-grilled, and I love how it was served skin on, as the texture of the skin added a unique element to the dish. Moist and tender inside, the cobia was accompanied by a medley of corn, chanterelle mushrooms, and squash resting on a tomato-based gazpacho. Simple ingredients with terrific flavors. Little Fish has a new menu each night based on what’s fresh, and is a BYOB, so bring your own libations. Open dinner only. Don’t miss this place if you’re ever in the Philly area!
