Pasta isn’t a dish I eat frequently, so it’s always one of my top options if offered when I go out to eat. This dish was a no brainer as it’s the most popular item ordered at Mama Ricotta’s and it’s been awhile since I’ve had Italian food, so I was eager to try their pasta. I absolutely love penne noodles, and these were tossed with sautéed pancetta in a pepper vodka with spicy tomato cream sauce. The option to add chicken, shrimp, or salmon is available, but I wanted to fully taste just the pasta and sauce together. Opted out on the parmesan cheese grater too. Sometimes keeping it simple is best. Paired this with a thin crust white pizza that was cooked in a wood-burning oven. Both very good entrees at Mama’s. Also, the Chianti braised short rib is awesome.
