BeetleCat is retro seafood spot (similar feel to Hello Sailor in Charlotte area) in the Inman Park neighborhood in Atlanta. When we went, the main dining room was closed for a private event, but they have a downstairs bar and lounge with outdoor seating that's pretty cool, with a kitschy nautical theme that somehow feels trendy. We sat at the lively bar and ordered a couple drinks and small plates. These fritters were definitely the highlight of our meal and are definitely worth ordering. These bad boys had everything you want in a fritter - a crisp salty outer crust, a bit of the taste of the sea from the little pieces of conch in the batter, and an unreal interior that was fluffy and almost creamy it was so moist. The aioli they're served with was a solid accompaniment too. BeetleCat is a fun spot in a hip neighborhood. We food-hopped around the Inman Park, which has lots of good restaurants, and BeetleCat was probably our favorite. Open for brunch/lunch and late night on weekends.
