I’m a huge carrot cake guy. My number one favorite cake flavor and dessert of all time. Bold statement, yet true. It’s close, but apple fritter donuts come in a strong second. I’d like to start it off with this carrot cake from this little bakery called, Villani’s. One word to describe this - RICH. Their cream cheese icing is extreme. One of the most hardcore cream cheese icings I’ve ever been blessed with. Triple layered cream cheese icing, walnuts, and carrot shavings. This bad boy takes two days to make and it’s all done in the back kitchen of this local bakery. First they make the breading and then they cool it for a day. Once chilled, they add in the goods (the icing) and we have ourselves a complete creation. A big time thing to note about Villani’s are their hours. Open everyday of the week from 7:00 AM - 10:00 PM. Yes, they’re open till 10:00 PM at night. I find that awesome as most bakeries and pastry shops close so early. Super friendly staff + their red velvet and Italian cream cakes are delicious options as well. This is numero uno of many more carrot cake reports to come.
