Context: I love food halls. I also love Burmese food. So when I stumbled upon this hole-in-the-wall establishment tucked into the corner of Union Market in DC, I almost did a cartwheel! I quickly surveyed the menu and was delighted to my favorite Burmese dish on the menu - ohno khauk swe - a.k.a. coconut chicken noodle soup. It is served with chicken in a vegetable-lentil stock infused with coconut milk and Indian spices, topped with boiled egg, cilantro, shallots, lime & optional house-roasted garlic chili flakes. It wasn't the best rendition I'd ever tasted, but it really did hit the spot and brought a ton of flavor. Union Market is a must-visit the next time you're in the DC area.
