Slightly North of Broad (SNOB) is one of the spots that makes Charleston a foodie destination. While not quite FIG level in my opinion in terms of higher end spots in the historic district, SNOB a bigtime spot and 100% worth a visit. My wife and I had a great meal here, and among several rotation caliber dishes we ordered, this BBQ tuna stood out. This dish is a staple on their menu and is essentially a tuna steak. The fish was cooked perfectly, with a sear on the outside and tender, raw inside. It is coated in a mustard BBQ sauce that has a slight sweetness and subtle tang, and a country ham butter that adds salt to the dish. The dish also features fried oysters on top of the tuna - a perfect crispy foil to the tender fish. Freshness comes in the form of bright veggies. The ideal bite consists of the tuna coated with the sauce and melted butter, the crispy oyster, and a juicy chunk of tomato. This is a really good dish that gives you a pretty complete taste of Charleston on one plate. Our server, whose name escapes me, was exceptional as well.
