02/08/19 Had to do some major leg work to find this gem. Quite possibly one of the best carrot cakes I’ve ever had. It’s top 3 for sure. It actually disintegrates inside your mouth. I wish the slices were bigger because they surely don’t last long at all. Features very moist breading, triple layered ultra sweet cream cheese icing, real carrot shavings, some sort of nut (pecans/and or pistachios?) and even the fun sized carrot on top is sweet. All cakes are made in house downstairs at night by one of the owners. The owners are three brothers from New York and each time I try to find out how they make/prepare their special cakes, the employees either A. get secretive or B. act dumbfounded and helpless. I was able to find out that the baker has been doing it for over 30 years and that they’re Greek style cakes (whatever that means). Nonetheless, the cakes here are big time and you cannot visit here without trying. As a matter of fact, the reason you should come to Landmark Diner is solely for the purpose of trying their cakes. I have yet to order some food from their menu. They’re basically a 24 hour diner, opening at 6:00 AM everyday and closing at 1:00 AM on weekdays and 3:00/4:00 AM on weekends. Perfect low key spot to crush some cake whenever you please. Their sweet potato cheesecake is a strong recommendation as well.
