Finding the Grenadier proved to be difficult as the pub is situated on a side street in an area occupied almost entirely by embassies. However, once we found this quaint pub with a beautiful bright blue facade, our hunger growing from our travels, the experience was worth the wait. As I settled down from a long day of visiting many of London's historic sites (including the nearby Hyde Park), I found myself craving an equally historic dish, so my eyes narrowed on the pub's offering of beef wellington. The beef wellington is cooked to perfection with a buttery steak wrapped in crispy, flaky pastry. Don't overlook the veggies, which were a welcome addition, with the truffled mushrooms as the standout. The dish is the best (of a limited number) of beef wellington's I've tried in my life and after a hearty day of walking it was a perfect cap to the day (with an equally hearty ale as well). I would recommend this dish (and pub) to anyone in the Hyde Park area looking for an English staple. Cheers!
