First time trying some BBQ in NC and it wasn’t bad, not bad at all. Arrived with the sole intent to eat meat. You’d think I was meat deprived by the way my cashier remarked at my order, “Yeah, that’s a lot of meat.” The ribs were the steal of the show. Although, it wasn’t “falling off the bone” it was very tender as you bit into it and the sauce was slightly sweet. The brisket was nicely sliced and fell off into little pieces, but was more rough to chew compared to the ribs - to state the obvious. Both meats were lightly sauced as the restaurant provides plenty of sauces that you help yourself with, but I opted to go no sauce and just enjoy the light glaze they provided. I really wanted to taste the meat and not the sauces. Never was a huge sauce guy and I don’t use steak sauces like A1. Every once in a while, a light bottle tap tap of Worcester sauce, but that’s it. City BBQ was a great launching pad. Would love to expand and try some more BBQ spots in the future.
