Roasted Trout Salad at Halcyon in Charlotte, NC. This light and tasty salad has bits of roasted trout, corn, cucumber, radish, and bacon. What makes it especially unique is the fried green tomato at the bottom of the salad. The tomato was lightly fried but unlike other fried green tomatoes, it wasn't greasy at all. The fresh trout was plentiful and the light dressing complemented the ingredients well without overpowering it. Halcyon is located at the entrance of the Mint Museum in Uptown. It's open for both lunch and dinner and has outdoor seating with a good view for people watching. If you're hungrier for more than a salad, get the Halcyon Burger - it's terrific!
