Pizza review time. Rosati’s Pizza is a Chicago inspired pizzeria known for their deep dish. First timer, I went with the classic combo with a thin crust. Decent pie, wasn’t outstanding, but wasn’t displeasing. The pizza is cut in a very interesting fashion here, making them pizza pieces rather than slices. It was like picking up finger food appetizers. A football party shareable pizza. The thin crust was really crunchy (not my preference) and hard. Also, a big pizza pet peeve of mine is when the cheese flaps off and doesn’t mesh well with the crust so you’re either getting a mouthful of cheese with loose toppings or straight dry crust. Unfortunately that was the case with this pie and it was difficult to eat for sure. Crust was on the dry side. I did like the full load of toppings consisting of Italian sausage, pepperoni, onion, mushroom, olives, and green peppers. The sausage was really good and so was the cheese as you can see the brown spots formed with how well cooked it was. The dough wasn’t the best though. Overall score: 6.3/10. I think at Rosati’s it’s all about their Chicago deep dish which I will be back to give that a try.
