10/22/20 I rarely get to eat barbecue ribs and it’s high up on my list of favorite foods. Thoroughly enjoyed this whole rack of Carolina Style Ribs at The Pit. They had two types, baby back and Carolina style and I was told they’re very similar in taste. Unless I’m a rib connoisseur, they said I wouldn’t be able to taste the difference. The one feature that nudged me to pick Carolina style over baby back was that it came with a thicker bone which gave it more flavor. These pork ribs were banging good. The sweet, tangy sauce was awesome sauce and it was fairly light which I appreciated. Not some overpowered BBQ sauce that eliminates the taste of the meat. Towards the beginning of my meal I asked for extra sauce on the side just to do a taste tester. The waiter brought some different tasting sauce in a prepackaged mini cup that carried more strength like a Sweet Baby Ray’s and after one bite of mixing it with that sauce, I knew it was a one and done play. The default sauce it came with was perfect for me and I didn’t need to drench it with anything more. I got challenged that I wouldn’t finish this entire plate...totally underestimating me. This was light work. I may not be a speed eater, but if we’re talking volume, I’ll win on any given day. This plate was feathers. Two sides were naturally, BBQ Baked Beans and Mac & Cheese. You’re not truly BBQ’ing if that’s not on your plate with the meat. Added the pumpkin flavored cornbread for the seasonal touch, which was really darn good with the warm melted butter on top. The meal also came with hush puppies and biscuits. $27.99 for a whole rack. Last time I got a meal that was $27.99 was the Ultimate Feast at Red Lobster. Just an overall big time meal at The Pit. Would definitely come pig out again.
