07/20/17 Started in my hometown of Waterbury, CT and formerly known as just "Vinnie's", Domenic and Vinnie's Pizzeria is a staple for those in the know in the Waterbury area. There's not a lot of bells and whistles with these pies -- just a really good, blue collar style pie with traditional toppings that is perfect for a low-key Friday night. One hallmark that differentiates "a Vinnie" is the crust. The crust is a little thicker, which might turn some thin crust lovers off, but take one bite and you'll be back for another. The way the crust is blackened -- a must for a good pie -- makes for just the right amount of crunch in every bite. As you can see, there's never a shortage of pizza for a larger group, and their square pizza is unique in that there are some pieces without crust. While these slices are still really good, savvy eaters know to go for the corners first -- the more crust the better!
