Salmon Tartare at Estiatorio Milos in Las Vegas, NV. If you love raw fish like I do, there’s nothing better than having a good tartare. So simple, yet the complex flavors and textures of some versions far outweigh others. Using the freshest organic salmon from the Faroe Islands (located halfway between Norway and Iceland), the tartare at Milos is spectacular, and shouldn’t be missed anytime you’re in Vegas. A generous portion of fatty salmon (fatty is good in this case) is mixed with sea salt, cilantro, fresno chili peppers, shallots, lime juice, lime zest, and olive oil. The resulting flavors are nothing short of amazing - sweet, sour, tangy, and refreshing all rolled into one. Thin, sesame-laced lavosh crackers accompany the tartare perfectly. Needless to say, I had to run this dish back (order again)! Located in a beautiful space in the Venetian Hotel, Milos also has locations in New York, Montreal, Miami, London, Los Cabos, and Athens, Greece. With seafood flown in daily from the Mediterranean, you can select your fish of choice and how you’d like it prepared. I also love their Greek Salad (incredibly fresh), Grilled Fish (Fagri was my favorite), and Octopus. Open for lunch and dinner daily, service is impeccable, as they take a team-oriented approach to serving each table. Bigtime place at a Bigtime place!
