Charcoal Roasted Rack of Lamb at Vern’s in Charleston, SC. I went to Vern’s on a whim with a buddy while we waited for table at a nearby restaurant. After having their tuna tartare appetizer (which was terrific), we opted for a full entree as a pre-dinner meal and it was the best decision of the night! The grass-fed New Zealand lamb was perfectly cooked and not “gamey” at all. The charcoal roast gave a nice char on the edges of the lamb chops as well as a unique smokey flavor. The smoked ratatouille surrounded by an in-house tomato-based sauce was a perfect accompaniment. Great service by knowledgeable and friendly staff. Open for dinner only and closed Tuesdays and Wednesdays. First time at Vern’s, but I’ll definitely be back!
