Homeburg Original Burger at Homeburg in Bangkok, Thailand. As a burger lover, I always have my eyes peeled for a good burger, even in countries where you would least expect it. In doing a bunch of research for meals in Bangkok, I was stunned to see a lot of hype over a $100 Burger Omakase meal. Obviously intrigued, I was able to garner a reservation and was anxious to see if it was worth the hype. Well, it was worth it and then some!! Homeburg serves a 10 course omakase meal centered around its prized dish, the Homeburg Original Burger. It’s comprised of four different cuts of beef from Australia - short brisket, short rib, chuck, and oyster blade. Weighing in at 160 grams, it’s housed in a soft Japanese shoku bun and dressed in an aoli sauce that consists of pickle juice, orange zest, sesame seed oil, ketchup, mustard, and mayo. Owner / chef Taiki meticulously crafts the burger before your eyes using a stopwatch to ensure that each step of the process is timed with precision to create a burger that is super juicy and oozing with flavor. While I loved each and every part of the omakase meal (including another half of a differently made burger, a uniquely marinated chicken wing, and a melt in your mouth Thai wagyu ribeye), my favorite dish was the Homeburg Original. If you love burgers, don’t miss this one if you’re ever in Bangkok!
