In the heart of the Castro, this bustling little place is not to be missed. It's been owned and operated by the same owner since 1977. The seafood is fresh and amazing. I am specifically writing about their cioppino, as it's my favorite. The large is huge and could feed two very hungry people or four average eaters. The flavors are rich, but light in depth. Packed with green lipped mussels, clams, halibut, crab legs, large shrimp, small mussels- you name it, it's in there. The garlic bread is fabulous too. Perfect for dipping in the broth. Be prepared to wear a bib, you'll need it. They do not take reservations and you can expect to wait up to 2 hours on a Saturday evening. It's well worth it. Put your name on the chalkboard outside and pop over the the wine bar across the street.
I'm always hesitant to reveal my San Francisco gems, but this place is not to be missed.
