Typically, I am not a dessert enthusiast, but this Apple Galette was exceptional. The base was a golden, flaky, pastry dough topped by a layer of thinly sliced apples. Finished with a caramel sauce and a scoop of caramel-hazelnut ice cream, this simple yet elegant dessert evoked memories of eating homemade apple pie as a kid. The amalgam of the warm, buttery crust, tender, sweet apples, and the cold, caramel-hazelnut ice cream left me yearning for more after it was finished.
