08/08/17 Snow Crab at The Boiling Crab. There are several “boil in bag” seafood restaurants around Dallas, but I like The Boiling Crab the best because I think their seafood and side items are the freshest. Pretty simple: you pick a seafood item (several types of crab, crawfish, shrimp, lobster, etc.), you pick one of the Cajun seasonings, and how spicy you want it. I always add corn on the cob and potatoes, which also get boiled in the bag with all the seasoning. They bring the bag out to you and the table is covered in paper, so you can just dump it all out on the table and dig in. I usually opt for the snow crab because it isn’t too pricey and it’s fairly easy to eat. When in season, the crawfish is a great option as well. The crawfish tend to be pretty small this time of year, so you need to go in March-May to get the good ones. This place gets insanely busy on the weekends and people will sometimes wait for three hours to get a table, so I go during the week when there usually isn’t much of a wait. Dallas doesn’t have a ton of good Cajun restaurants, as opposed to Houston, but The Boiling Crab is probably the best I have found in Dallas so far.
