25 year old Jonathan Yao is the chef/owner of Kato but I didn't have any savory dishes while there. I know the pastry chef Max so we went in to do a NINE dish $35 dessert tasting. Max did a stellar job. Wasabi as the main flavor in a dessert is unusual but worked very well in this case. He also used lime for tartness and caramel for sweetness and it all came together beautifully. I hope to try the entire tasting menu at some point in the future.
