Food Terminal is a large, open "Food Hall" concept off of Atlanta's famous international food street, Buford Hwy. The restaurant serves various Asian cuisines from Chinense, Malaysian, Japanese, Vietnamese, etc. The Thai Chili Roasted Eggplant is a great starter dish whenever at Food Terminal. The first thing that stands out are the colors. From the vibrant purple Eggplant skin, to the orange/red chili sauce & pickled carrots and fresh green cilantro. The taste matches the appearance. Although most Eggplant dishes are unassuming/boring, the flavors from roasting the Eggplant are pronounced on this dish. You get an almost smoky aroma paired with a sweet, sour and spicy chili sauce. The sauce has all three key ingredients that make your mouth water, the sour hits you first, then the sweet calms you down a bit before the spicy after kick makes you sweat just a little at the end. When you bite into the Eggplant the skin remains fresh and just melts along with the chili. This dish will only set you back $4 and is a great way to start a meal.
