So this was not something I expected when I picked up a menu at a local Irish pub. However, it is exactly what I wanted. The Hibernian is an awesome pub with a very good atmosphere. They serve classics like fish and chips or bangers and mash, but they also have a few unique dishes like their selection of specialty mac n cheeses and this amazing creation. It's exactly what it says it is: it's a Philly cheese steak in egg roll form. It's all the classic ingredients for a good Philly (steak, cheese, peppers, onions) in a massive fried wrap. Seriously, each bite was about the size of my palm. The ingredients themselves were wonderful; perfectly cooked steak with just enough peppers and onions to help it out without taking away from the meat. But the crunch of the outer layer really helped it out. I can't explain why, I just really loved the taste and feel of the crunchy outer roll paired with the Philly. To add to all of that, it came with a really good jalapeno-cheese dip that certainly made up for anything taste-wise that might have been lacking. Overall, I've had very few things like this or as good as this, which is what makes it an All-Star dish. If you're getting an entree, that's a different story, but I hope and pray that I see this dish in more restaurants. Until that day comes, I'll come back to the Hibernian for more.
