Tres Leches at Chuy's in Dallas, TX. Chuy's is a Tex Mex chain in Texas and is overall a pretty good spot. My favorite thing here is the Tres Leches, which is a staple Mexican dessert. Chuy's has probably the best Tres Leches I have had. It's basically sponge cake soaked with a mixture of three milks: evaporated milk, sweetened condensed milk, and heavy cream, which you can see surrounding the cake. A lot of times when I order this dessert at other restaurants the sponge cake is either too dry (hasn't been properly soaked) or the whole dessert is like a soupy, cake mess. Chuy's nails it though. The whole piece of cake is thoroughly soaked, but it still maintains its structure, even after you start eating it. Also, Chuy's doesn't overdo the toppings like caramel, strawberries, or whipped cream probably because the cake can stand on its own without the gimmicks. The cake's sweetness, cold temperature (I think its supposed to soak overnight in the fridge), texture, and moistness are consistent throughout, which makes for a franchise-worthy dessert.
