The Bambu Special at Bambu Desserts & Drinks is my go to if ever in the area. The drink serves as a thirst quencher but also as a nice light, refreshing dessert. The drink has a unique mix of asian inspired toppings that include fresh coconut, pandan jelly, longan fruit, basil seed and coconut water. The coconut flesh is from young coconuts and therefore still maintains a nice crunch with every bite and is soften and flavored by the surrounding toppings. The pandan jelly is green in color and is unfamiliar to some, but is delicious no less. It is thick and chewy and absorbs any and all juices around it, including the coconut water and longan fruit. The longan fruit is sweat and crunchy and resembles the texture of a grape. The fruit along with the coconut water provide most of the sweetness in this drink/dessert. The real surprise and my favorite part of this drink are the basil seeds. Each slurp of the straw pulls these nice small seeds into your mouth and provides a continuous crunch to accent the coconut flesh, longan fruit and pandan jelly. This drink is served cold with crushed ice and is a must try. Until next time ✌🏽
