Poke has started to take over as a new fast-casual option as well as sneaking onto many restaurants menus. I have tried many different takes on this Hawaiian-originated dish and by far the best one I have had is at Manoa in Somerville, MA. Their ingredients are always fresh and they aren't afraid to mix and experiment with different flavors. The result is a delicious and vibrant bowl that your stomach will thank you for ordering.
My last meal at this low-key, casual dining spot is pictured above. I ordered the salmon and tuna in a sesame-soy marinade as my protein for the meal. I cannot say enough how good the sashimi is at this location, seems to be the best quality of the Poke places I have tried so far. For my sides I selected the chili pineapple and mac 'n cheese with a base of quinoa and kale. The texture and flavor of the dish was unbelievable and is why I put this place in my dining rotation. Also worth a try, the fried chicken, crunchy and moist. Absolutely worth a visit if you're in the Boston area and looking for a light, refreshing meal.
