Chicken Kebat at Vakok Burmese Cuisine in Dallas, TX. I've seen a few reports on Bigtime Bites featuring Burmese dishes, so I wanted to see what Dallas had to offer in terms of Burmese food options. I've had quite a few other SE Asian cuisines before, but this was my first time trying Burmese food. I ordered a number of different dishes at Vakok: mohinga, tea leaf salad, and Burmese kung pao beef. But the chicken kebat was my favorite. The dish is chicken sauteed with sliced tomato, onions, fresh chopped chili, mint leaf, and masala sauce. The best part of the dish for me was the masala sauce complemented by the mint leaf. I typically don't care much for mint leaf in dishes, but it worked really well here. Every few bites you would get a hint of mint to cool off the spice of the masala. I really enjoyed the flavor of this dish. And if you're looking for something to do while you wait for your food, they have a game room complete with a ping pong table and pool table!
