Zucchini bread. Yeah, you heard me. I have a hard time not giving this a franchise tag. If we are getting technical, I consider this bread a PERENNIAL all-star. Once you try this stuff, it will speak for itself. I'm not a zucchini fan, at all. This isn't ever anything I would EVER order normally, but when I used to live in the Plaza Midwood/Elizabeth neighborhood in CLT, I would always overhear regulars order the zucchini bread. I always wondered why. One day, I asked the guy in front of me what all the fuss was about and he told me to just see for myself and it would all make sense. He was right. This bigtime bread is incredibly moist and surprisingly dense (the pieces aren't that big, but they always seem like enough) and you get a good amount of pumpkin pie spices on the nose as well as the palate. To cap it all off, this bread is vegan - so it even makes you feel somewhat healthy while devouring it! Don't go to Central without trying their cold brew, either - it's the best in town.
