Pork Hui Tou at Hui Tou Xiang in San Gabriel, CA. I've eaten a lot of dumplings and potstickers in my time, so I don't get too excited about them unless they stand out and grab my attention. The super friendly and knowledgeable Eddie Huang (owner of BaoHaus in NYC, author, and TV personality) gave me this recommendation and it didn't disappoint. These Hui Tou are a cross between a dumpling, potsticker, and egg roll. Once you bite into these bad boys, the pork juices will flow freely, so be prepared to wipe some pork juice off your clothes and watch out for the splatter from the person across and near you. I also love that the skin is pan fried (instead of steamed), giving it a crispy texture and a little crunch. Great portion size, especially for sharing and great value - 8 good sized pieces for $7.50!
