Persimmon Cafe is the perfect college town restaurant and nothing on the menu beats their grilled cheese and tomato parmesan soup. It is a very filling and tasty meal because the customers can pick their own special blend of cheeses (my personal favorite are cheddar and gouda) so the grilled cheese is personalized to the customer's taste preference. The tomato parmesan soup is exceptional with a perfect blend salt and acidity, while still being creamy. The grilled cheese is even better when paired with one of Persimmon's delicious frozen custards (nutella and toasted marshmallow is amazing), giving the perfect sweet ending to a delicious meal. Anyone coming to Charleston should give Persimmon, and especially this dish, a try as it is a cheap meal but one that will leave you full and excited to come back.
