scouting report A. Vinzant
09/04/17 Soo Cafe has all of the traditional Korean dishes that you would expect a Korean restaurant to have as well as a huge TV playing an endless stream of K-Pop music videos. They have bibimbap and bulgogi, but the interesting thing about this restaurant is their most popular dish: chicken wings. If you know anything about chicken wings you know that it's typically not the wing itself that makes the dish good, but it's the sauce that the wings are covered in. This was an exception. I have never been happier with wings in my entire life. They have a few different sauces to choose from and a few different ways to order your wings and I chose the WTC option, which is 4 tenders and 4 wings. I decided to go with the SoGa sauce because it is their most popular option for sauce. The chicken, wings and tenders, were so crispy it was unreal. They were absolutely phenomenal. Every single piece was crispy and crunchy on the outside and juicy on the inside. That alone impressed me, but the sauce blew my mind. SoGa sauce is Soo Cafe's soy and garlic mixture that results in a sweet and salty sauce that is the best thing I can think of to go on a chicken wing. It added a sweet taste to the dish that was very well complemented by the savory and crispy chicken. Just as an added detail, my wife got their spicy old fashioned sauce and it was just as good as mine, but spicy. If you asked me for one recommendation in the Raleigh area and you are even somewhat a fan of chicken wings, I cannot recommend this place enough. I would drive you there myself. I honestly never thought I could enjoy chicken wings this much, and I am so glad that my mind was changed. This bite is most definitely Bigtime.
