Yellowtail and Scallop Hand Rolls at Sushi Sake in Richardson, TX. Sushi Sake is my favorite sushi joint in Dallas, other than the super high-end places. Richardson is a suburb just north of Dallas, so it's about a 15-20 min drive from downtown Dallas. But Sushi Sake is worth it, if you are looking for a traditional Japanese restaurant. The menu is extensive. They have all the staples like dumplings, udon noodles, tempura dishes, etc. The rolls here are pretty standard, so I usually opt for the sashimi, nigiri, and hand rolls. They have really fresh seafood and interesting, less common fish to choose from. In the picture, the yellow tail hand rolls are on the left and the scallop ones are on the right. Interestingly, I've noticed that every time I come here that the sushi is prepared a little differently, depending on which sushi chef it was prepared by. Pro tip - try and get a seat at the sushi bar in front of the owner's station (white-haired Japanese guy). He has owned the place for like 30 years and is awesome to watch prepare the sushi!
