As I have mentioned before: I love chicken and waffles more than any other dish on planet earth.I also really enjoy specialty mac n cheese. The Mac House has a dish that combines both of these to my extreme enjoyment. When I saw the Chicken and Mac n Cheese Waffle option on the menu, I honestly didn't understand what I was reading. I just understood that there would be chicken and waffles in the mix with some mac n cheese involved, so I needed to check it out. The dish consisted of two chicken tenders (nothing really out of the ordinary), served on top of a waffle with a side of hot honey to drizzle on top. "Where is the mac n cheese?" I thought. Now, the waffle did look odd, but I'm color blind so I usually just differ to that as reasoning, but I had seen something on Facebook that gave me a hint and hope as to what I might be in store for. So, sure enough, I cut into the "waffle" and discovered that it was made of mac n cheese. Yes. Mac n Cheese waffle. It was glorious. The hot honey is crushed red pepper mixed in with honey which creates a great balance of spicy and sweet that pairs surprisingly well with the savory flavors of the chicken and mac-waffle. The chicken was well cooked; crispy and juicy. The mac n cheese had the firm outer layer of a waffle, which was great for the texture of the meal, while maintaining the gooey wonder of mac n cheese on the inside. All of this made for a wonderful meal that I definitely will not forget anytime soon. I highly recommend at least trying this if you're looking for a very unique twist on a classic dish. It is a very fun place with a great selection and lots of options for each menu choice. And all at a reasonable price.
