Hominy Grill is one of my favorite restaurants in Charleston. Anytime I'm visiting or introducing people to Charleston this is a must try establishment because of the atmosphere and the awesome food. My very first Shrimp and Grits experience back in 2007 was at Hominy Grill and I ALWAYS get this dish every time I visit. Not much has changed about their Shrimp and Grits since that first try and that's exactly how it should be. The grits are perfectly cooked, buttery, creamy and thick. The large, plump shrimps are sautéed with mushrooms and my favorite food group, bacon... the bacon provides the saltiness and crunch, while the mushrooms are silky and earthy. This dish is simple and elegant at the same time and eating it always brings back fond memories of sitting in Hominys backyard patio, drinking a Firefly sweet tea, lemonade. Until the next BTB ✌🏽
