09/21/17 Fish Camp is located in the ever evolving Ponce City Market near downtown Atlanta, GA. The mix use market has various shopping and food options but when I'm craving a filling sandwich or some great seafood, W.H. Stiles Fish Camp is the answer. The Pan Seared (you can get it fried as well) Shrimp Po'boy is a must try here. First off the hoagie roll is perfectly baked and is light and airy. The bread is toasted on both sides so that each bite has a distinct crunch followed by a chewy texture. Don't worry about those bread crumbs on your shirt, they're your badge of honor. Both interiors of the bread are lathered with spicy cajun mayo, which is creamy, sweet and only slightly spicy. Lettuce and tomatoe slices are added for flavor compliments as the tomatoe gives it a little acidity while the lettuce mellows out the creamy mayo and provides freshness. Butter pickles and the plump shrimp are the stars of this show and what makes it Bigtime. The thick cut pickles are perfect for the chewy hoagie roll as the pickle juices flow like lava through the airy bread and are absorbed and distributed giving the sandwich a nice tartness. The pan seared shrimp are cooked in what appears to be butter to a gorgeous golden crust, seasoned with salt and pepper. Be sure to try this sandwich at Fish Camp along with their rotating raw oyster selections... until I eat again BTB ✌🏽
