My first visit to Lan Zhou Ramen on Buford Hwy in Doraville, GA will be memorable because of this Spicy Beef Tendon cold appetizer. The dish has a unique hot/cold contrast in your mouth because it is served cold but has the essential Szechuan numbing spiciness. The beef tendons have been sliced almost paper thin, making chewing very pleasurable and crunchy. It’s cooked and seasoned with seaseme oil, hot Szechuan peppers, seaseme seeds, vinegar, chili oil and a profound but not too overwhelming star anise flavor. This dish is a perfect “snack” with a light beer or a bowl of rice as a meal. It costs approx. $6.95 and is a huge portion. Until the next BTB ✌🏽
