The picture doesn't do this dish justice -- admittedly a little blurry and kind of dark -- but the fact I'm putting in a report for such a weak pic should tell you something about the tastiness and quality -- summed up in ONE word -- BIGTIME. I know I know -- bacon as a stand-alone app? -- c'mon DD -- seems a little on the sparse side in terms of size/quantity, but don't knock it until you try it. Crispy bacon snobs can rejoice -- this definitely fits the bill. Cut thick, stiff and crunchy with off the charts pork flavor, hints of spicy jalapeno (so much that your mouth is mildly on fire), and a savory mustard sauce to boot -- but that's not what sets this dish apart. The game-changing quality of this is when you get to the less crispy, fatty parts of the bacon that would normally make me spit the bite into my napkin -- not the case here. The bacon is partially coated with a light, sweet, brown sugar glaze, instantly transforming a normally chewy, undesirable bite into one that that tastes like a flavor-blasted piece of sweet/spicy/salty candy that melts in your mouth. One of many dishes at this restaurant that is BIGTIME. Kudos to @foodguy for the encouragement on this one. Bacon as an app is here to stay.
