You'll enjoy an authentic North Carolina hole-in-the-wall foodie experience at Black's Grill in Cherryville, NC, when you order the longtime restaurant's standard cheeseburger. This tasty burger starts with a slab of fresh-pattied ground beef, thick and juicy enough to sink your teeth into but still thin and incredibly tender enough you won't endlessly chew. The meat tops a hunk of melted American cheese on a fresh, soft jumbo sandwich bun. The standard burger comes what I call "Cherryville style," a toppings combination of cool, creamy and sweet coleslaw, fresh tomatoes and hamburger dill pickles that you find commonly in burger joints in the Cherryville area. Black's burger is one of my top 3 anywhere. As an extra tip: Get the homemade Cherry Lemon Sundrop to drink. It's made with the North Carolina classic soda Sundrop, lemon juice, cherry juice and fresh cherries. It'll set off your cheeseburger even more! Take cash and maybe visit at an off hour. The place can get busy (When you have a burger you'll understand why), and there's not much seating! Call-in orders welcome!
