Desposito's hits a game-winner with its boiled shrimp entree. The shrimp are caught in the waters around Savannah, which explains why they taste fresh like they were just hauled in today. (Because they were!) Due to the restaurant's boiling approach, you don't taste any artificial or unnecessary seasoning flavors with these shrimp, like you might in a fried or grilled presentation. It's about as smooth and plump as you can ever eat shrimp without cooking them yourself. Simple, basic and just what you want to enjoy after a day relaxing on nearby Tybee Island or exploring in nearby historic downtown Savannah. Stars like Michael Douglas and Catherine Zeta-Jones have discovered Desposito's, which is off the beaten path a bit in the Thunderbolt community between Savannah and Tybee. So be patient, pull up a chair in the simple dining room and be prepared to taste shrimp in their purest form!
