Starting with a cup of Gumbo at Superior Seafood guarantees you an authentic and intense New Orleans culinary experience. I love that this dish is both simple and complex at the same time. While it seems like just a broth soup with shrimp and andouille sausage, topped with white rice and herbs, the spices blended throughout lend an incredible pop of flavor in every bite. It's just the right combination, neither too spicy nor not spicy enough for a cajun/creole gumbo. The shrimp are plump, the sausage is plentiful, and the rice on top provides a cooling balance to the spicy broth. Superior Seafood is a great New Orleans dining experience, with porch, bar and booth seating, and the jazz music throughout takes you back to the early 20th century South.
