Everyone loves ice cream. Heck, I am allergic to dairy and I still live for the stuff. It's also tough to beat a local, mom-and-pop homemade ice cream shop. When Two Scoops Creamery opened in Plaza Midwood - one of my favorite neighborhoods in CLT - I had to check out what all the fuss was about. Let me tell you, this place does not disappoint. I've sampled more than several of their unique homemade flavors, but each time I walk out of Two Scoops, at least one of my scoops (you have to get two scoops to honor the name of the shop...duh) winds up being Cookie Monster. I've had similar flavors at different ice cream shops, but none exactly like this treat. This place pays homage to everyone's favorite Sesame Street character by dyeing vanilla ice cream and folding in bits of chocolate chip cookies, oreos and vanilla wafers. The results are pretty magical. Make sure to check this place out the next time you are in the area and looking for a sweet night cap! Open for 'OT' on Fri and Sat evenings
