Myrtle Beach isn't necessarily a hotbed for foodies. However, if you happen to find yourself in the area and you're looking for some local flavor, make your way over to Murrells Inlet. Here, you'll find a cool boardwalk-type situation that runs along about a dozen restaurants and bars and provides for great people watching. Up the street is where you'll find a real gem: Beaver Bar. This place is the epitome of a biker bar - Harleys, beards and leather for days. I can't speak to this place at night (I'm sure it's great), but I can certainly recommend the $5 (!!!) all-you-can-eat breakfast buffet that goes down every Sunday morning. There's not much else to say here...just roll up, hand the bartender $5 and take your styrofoam plate and go to town. What I have pictured is probably round two or three of my several go-arounds at the buffet table. There are no frills with this food...it's more about the overall experience and bang-for-buck. Plus, anything tastes good after being doused with Cholula...right?
