This Russian Bakery on Balboa street is a popular place. There is always a small line out the door but it moves quickly. You can usually get what you want in 10-15 minutes. I have now been there a few times. It's a small but quaint place with seating outside on the street. The menu is fairly simple, but everything on it is done well. Today I went with the farmhouse breakfast while my daughter had their oatmeal (kasha) with walnuts and blueberries. The farmhouse breakfast comes with two organic free-range eggs, home style potatoes, broccoli, peppers, and three sausages. Both filling and tasty and seemingly healthy. Sausages definitely not your typical greasy sausages. Their strawberry, cream cheese, turnover also definitely not something to skip over often.
